Responsibilities

  • Learn about FM’s global engineering standards: Building Construction, Occupancy, Protection and Exposure Systems (COPE).
  • Shadow consulting engineers during visits and inspections of commercial properties.
  • Inspect physical properties, including buildings, roofs, mechanical/electrical equipment, and fire protection systems.
  • Identify potential loss risks related to construction, equipment, operations and maintenance.
  • Perform basic risk analysis and help evaluate property protection measures. Develop technical recommendations to reduce risks and prevent property loss.
  • Document findings and prepare risk analyses/technical reports.
  • During the internship you will work on a technical engineering project.
  • Collaborate with other departments at FM Global and gain exposure to different areas of the business.
  • Participate in professional development activities, training, site visits, and job shadowing opportunities. Communicate findings and recommendations with engineers, customers and internal teams.
